Another Challenge Blog Bites the Dust
Just this morning I received a comment on the post Christmas Reading Challenge from Julie who ran the blog. She deleted the blog yesterday because of a lack of interest. So no Christmas Challenge ;-( But that leaves one less challenge left as 2015 winds down and I still have several to wrap up by the end of December. Already it's going to be December tomorrow. The year has gone too fast. But even though the challenge is now cancelled, I still intend to read some Christmas-themed books. I like to get in the spirit.

For all of you of all ages who love picture books but find they don't qualify for your other challenges, or just want an excuse to read them. . .here's a challenge just for you!
Formerly hosted by Book Dragon's Lair. She's cutting back her challenge hosting for 2016 and passed the baton to me.
Details:
- Challenge runs from January 1, 2016 to December 31, 2016. Sign up is now through December 1, 2016.
- Read picture books.
- Pick a number and go for it. Twelve too easy? Go for 20. Piece of cake? Go for 40.
- Books you own and library check outs count. So do ebooks and re-reads.
- Please post about the challenge and sign up with a direct link.
- A blog is not necessary, just link to where you talk about the challenge or a dedicated public shelf at goodreads or LibraryThing.
- Write a review - 2 sentences or an essay, whatever works for you, but there is a minimum of 2 sentences for your review. Not sure what to write? How about something like, "The characters were a delight but the artwork was dreary. It was disappointing." I'll post a link up post each month for those who want to share. Reviews are not necessary but would be nice so we know which ones to read ourselves. :)
Here is what I am reading:
- Fables--Arnold Lobel

FULL HOUSE READING CHALLENGE 2016
At last the Full House Challenge for 2016 is up. I love doing this one. Sign up at this link.
Challenge Guidelines:
- Challenge will run from Jan 1st to December 31st 2016
- Write and publish a post stating your intention to participate. In the post please include the Challenge graphic and a link back to this post. Then link your intention post at the bottom of this post. Make sure it is the actual post and not just a generic link to your blog.
- Add your reviews back here on the link in this post. At the end of every three months there will be a U.S. $12 prize with a book of your choice from the Book Depository or U.S. Amazon voucher, for the entries. There will be a new linky then for the next quarter and so on to the end of December.
- Reviews are not mandatory and if you prefer to keep a list of the books read and the category they cross off the card, then you can still enter for the completion of a Full House by linking to that list on the final linky or in a comment.
- Jan - March Link Up
- April - June Link Up
- July - September Link Up
- October - December Link Up
- Each review can only be linked up once in the year. However it doesn't matter when you read the book in 2016 - which month, just link as you remember or have time. So if you read it in January you may not get around to linking it until say... May. That is fine.
- Books may cross over from other challenges that you are doing.
- There will be a final post to link in a summary post for the challenge for those who have completed a full house. This will close on the 2nd January 2017 and a winner will be chosen using random.org for a U.S. $30 prize which again can be used to buy books at the Book Depository or be received as an Amazon voucher.
Link Full House post here
- Complete the card below. You can do it in any order you wish. You are allowed "one free exchange", if there is something on the square you really dislike you may change it to something of your choice. Once you have played this free choice that is it. Mention the exchange in the final summary post.
* Self Challenge means setting a challenge for yourself for this square. For example I might set read a book my a male author, because I hardly ever do that. Or ...
* Setting beginning with B. This can be a country, a state, a place, a street. Or it could be a beach or the bush or a bookshop. Long as a good part of the book is set there, the whole book might be, but it doesn't have to be.

2016 Dystopia Reading Challenge
The Dystopia Reading Challenege will be on again next year. Tracy at Cornerfolds, who took over the challenge in midyear, will be hosting again, along with Claudia from My Soul-Called Life. I'm going to try again, even though I didn't quite make the first level this year. I hadn't read any books since September, but had to call it finished since the year is winding down and I need to start wrapping up challenges. I'm planning again to do the first level next year. Sign up at the link above.
Welcome back to the new and improved Dystopia Reading Challenge! Last year I picked up the challenge in the middle of the year with not much of a clue what I was doing. This year I am much more prepared, I assure you! I have an amazing new co-host, Claudia from My Soul Called Life, and I am super excited to see what the new year has to offer!
✷ New Badges – These individual badges will be emailed personally to each participant once said participant has read and reviewed the highest number of books required for that specific level (see below). For example, in order to obtain the Recruit badge, you will need to have read and reviewed a total of 5 dystopian books. To receive the Rebel badge, you will need to have read and reviewed a total of 10 dystopian books; so on, and so on. You set your own personal goal and you decided how you want to display your badge (i.e. sidebar, reading challenge page, a blog post, etc.).
✷ Quarterly Giveaways – We will be hosting quarterly Giveaways! These Giveaways will be exclusive to all the Dystopia Reading Challenge participants. Further details will be provided in our Monthly Dystopia Newsletter
✷ Monthly Dystopia Prompts & Review Link-ups – Claudia and I truly love book blogging and bibliophiles, in general, and so we figured, what better way to share our love for all things dystopia then to participate in monthly dystopian prompts with all you lovely bookworms! That’s right! Each month we will include a dystopian prompt in our Monthly Dystopia Newsletter where you will be invited to participate! Please note that there are no obligations in this part of the challenge is ― it's completely optional. We strongly believe that reading challenges are meant to be fun and to help create a community that exchanges similar interests – like books, and in this case, repressive governments & revolutionists!
✷ Monthly Dystopia Newsletter – We will be emailing a monthly newsletter to every participant with exclusive content on our Giveaways, monthly dystopian prompts, upcoming dystopian book releases, book-turned-movie releases, challenge updates and so much more!
