This Weekend

I've been out late for the last two nights and have been too tired to post. There was a bar celebration on Friday night I chose to attend. And last night I went to our local theater group's production of High School Musical, held in the high school auditorium. It was a fun one. No pictures were allowed.

Deciding on a costume took  a while for me  this year. After looking up different decades, I saw this idea: pin up girls from the 1940s. After much searching, this is what I came up with:

Not surprising that no one knew what it was. Someone thought I was Minnie Mouse. I don't know why, without mouse ears. Someone else joked because of the white gloves, that I was a health inspector! That cracked me up.

A contest was held that night and the winners were a couple from Yellowstone (this is the second year in a row I've seen a this couples' costume), Chuckie and his bride, and Lord Farquaad from Shrek.

Beth from Yellowstone (her partner is

Others I saw that night:

Anabelle
(Sorry for the blurry photo).

Female Chuckie

Sheet ghost

Evil Clown

And karaoke was back. The permit had ended during the COVID shutdown and they just got it back again.

We will be having a party at work on Wednesday.

  1. Wow - having fun this season I see - it is hard to get good pictures in low light. I always struggle.

  2. Well, haven't you turned into a total party girl -- out late two nights in a row, PLUS another party coming up on Wednesday! And yes, I know the type of 40s pinup girls you were referencing with your costume -- they always seemed to find themselves in a strong breeze that would blow their skirts up to reveal their panties!

  3. That looks like a lot of fun. One of the reasons I stopped doing costumes was because no one ever knew what I was. Well, that, and laziness. I think this year I'm going as a time traveling anthropologist from the future studying the 2024 election in California. (In other words, I'm trying to blend in, so I look "normal".)

  4. I like your costume. It may not be out there, but you definitely look like you put some effort into it.

  5. I like your costume too, but I confess I wouldn't have guessed who you were either. I'm so glad you had such a great time.
