US History Quiz

Last week for my trivia class at work, I chose to use US history as a topic, with the 250th birthday of the US coming up. I watched the video below, then wrote questions based off the ones in the video.

One guy who participated knew most of the answers. He seems to like history. I hated having to take it in school because I had to do it so many times and it was so repetitive. What was considered important to learn then now just sounds like trivia.

How many of the questions did you know?

  1. Interesting quiz. I missed 16 out of the 50. Thought I'd do better. I like historical biographies and history in school, but hated it because it was called Social Studies. Aced Oklahoma History, a required semester-long class in high school. I took it in summer time, and then we didn't have to take Civics. Hmmmm. Texas being a state before joining the Union threw me. Growing up in Oklahoma, we just nevery acknowledged Texas. I guessed Hawaii, as it was it's own soverignty before we stole it. Linda now in Kansas

  2. I missed seven; not too bad!

  3. I got them all. I think. It was difficult keeping track. I just had to take it though. As you are probably aware, I'm a wicked history nerd (it was, hands down, my favorite subject).
