Once again, I did not attempt to wake up at 3AM to try to go shopping on Friday. I just can't imagine doing it. I did not even get up until around 8 or 9, and waited until around 1 or 2 to go to the grocery store. It didn't seem very full. We later attempted to get a pizza at Little Caesers, but found out the wait was 45 minutes, so we passed. A lot of people were attempting to get pizza that night. They must have been tired of turkey from Thanksgiving!
I decided to shop local and small yesterday for Small Business Saturday by going to both bookstores. This is the first year for both of them. At the "new books" store, selected books were 40% off and I got one. I also got three from the used one. The used bookstore has a dog mascot, unlike most bookstores that have cats. The dog attempted twice to lick me under my chin!
It remains to be seen if I will get anything tomorrow on Cyber Monday. I did order one thing once on Cyber Monday, a pair of pajamas from Lane Bryant. I've been trying to find some deals on Amazon, but not a lot has invested me.
I do wonder if the scenario depicted in this cartoon is true:
BTW, we don't have to get a lot of family gifts, so all the stuff I got was for me. My friend is planning to order herself a microwave on Cyber Monday.
So where does Small Business Saturday fall into this scenario? And why is there no shopping day for Sunday after Thanksgiving? I guess Sunday supposed to be a recovery day. I'm not sure what I'll even be doing the rest of today.
