I remember too. I was in my classroom in Chicagoland. A few parents actually arrived in the day to take their child home since they didn’t know what would happen next. Our school secretary came on the intercom to tell me my daughter had called to say she was being evacuated from her building while at work since it was a high building. What a horrible time that was.
My son was in Mali with the Peace Corps and he said people kept looking at them and his volunteer group was evacuated to a different area.

Yup, it's such an indelible memory.
