I'll be joining you as this is a favourite challenge. I read children's pix books as mentor texts - as I've written (never published) children's pix books - and want to improve.

I don't often read children's or young adults' literature (except when I was in those demographics myself and then I was a voracious reader!) but in the last 5 years or so, I read Rick Riordan's YA trilogy "Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard" -- "The Sword of Summer," "The Hammer of Thor" and "The Ship of the Dead." They were very entertaining, fast-paced, funny and with a diverse cast of often-minority-group characters. Recommended!
