To Go Out or Not...

I am still uncertain about going out to some places, like the movies. I was last at our local movie theater in November 2019 when Last Christmas came out. It has been reopened for some time now, but I have been hesitant about going. Not very many movies have been out that I have been eager to see, but now I kind of want to see the The Addams Family 2.  I just rewatched the first one on DVD from Netflix. And the local theater company is now putting its production of Beauty and the Beast, Jr., originally scheduled for the spring of 2020.  In February of 2020, they put on what was their last play before the Covid shutdown, California Suite, which I got to see. I'm still a little hesitant about going to things like this, though. Has anyone been out to movies recently? Have any plays been put on in your town recently?

Although we are having a Halloween celebration at work on Friday, I am also hesitant bout going to bars and such. The kinds of celebrations were cancelled last year, but some are returning this year. This is another thing I am hesitant about doing right now. Ad for as I know, no one is holding anything at their house. My writers lab leader has held a party at her house every year. I went to the one in 2019 (I started going to the group in 2018, but missed the one that year). I have not heard anything about on this year. Many people have said trick-or-treating should be OK the year, but very little, if anything, has been said about having parties, though some are advising against crowded parties (see in link above). This is going to take some deciding.

And I don't anticipate getting many kids at home on Halloween night. Not just because of Covid, but also because even before the pandemic hit, very few trick-or-treaters came to our house. It seems to be something to expect no matter the circumstances. As a result, I never know how much candy to get.

We just had my daughters wedding - 44 guests all vaccinated and as far as I know, everyone is fine 2 weeks later so I would say gatherings with other vaccinated folks should be ok. The movies could be sketchy. Perhaps socially distance or go to a less crowded viewing on a weeknight.
